Product Reviews of pHion-Diagnostic pH Test Strips, 90ctProduct Review: HARD TO FIND Summary: 4 StarsThese are hard to find and priced right, even considering shipping. They work with ease and are accurate.
Product Review: Fast and Easy Summary: 5 StarsThe strips are easy to use and provide results in seconds. They are long enough so your hands stay clean, but small enough to easily dispose of.
Product Review: new strips indicate too low Summary: 1 StarsI have purchased their previous product, the two-colour pHion strips, for years and have sent many people to their website to purchase them, even if one of the colors had to be ignored to get the proper reading. (This may be why they changed to this single-color version.) However, I still have some of the two-color strips and test strips from another manufacturer that are consistent between their readings. These "NEW pHion Test Stix" have proved to be useless. They consistently indicate a very low pH, at least 2 points lower than both of the other strips, and their sensitivity is extremely poor. (I had purchased 10 bottles through their website and will be sending 9 back.) A low reading serves to promote their other products; this is unethical if it produces erroneously low results.
Product Review: Really easy Summary: 5 StarsLove these strips, so easy to use, nice large scale. I have read the other reviews and wanted to say that my husband and I did test our water and some other liquids and these definitely give you an idea on where the ph is. Just to give an example, our water from our faucet comes out really acidic ( yellow). Tested other bottled water and Deer Park comes out alkaline (green). Which is where water is suppose to be. Definitely worth it when trying to figure something out, internally or externally. Received them in a timely fashion as well.
Product Review: Does not work with water Summary: 3 StarsThese strips do not work with water or any other non-ionized solution. See the PhIon FAQ on their site which says, "These strips do NOT test against water or chemicals. They need to be tested against high ionized solutions. Water is not a high ionized solution and other chemicals may dilute the strip to be unreadable."
They do work with urine or saliva, but you cannot test them using water or other solutions.
The product information on this should be updated to clarify this issue. There are several negative reviews where people think the strips do not work because there is no warning in the product information that the strips cannot be tested with water or similar solutions.
