Customer Review: LIDS ARE ALWAYS BREAKING!

I bought two of these cans in 12 months, and both had the lids broken within 6 months of use. I don't have any pets or kids, just my husband and I so there wasn't a lot of opening and closing and even so the lids broke, there is no way to fix it and on their site, they sell the lids for 80% of the total value, so clearly this is a scam to get people buying the lids all the time, so they make more money. I wouldn't give one star if that wasn't the minimal. This is really a piece of trash!

This 23 Gallon (85 Liter) Touchless Trashcan NX model uses latest sensor technology. As your hand or debris enter the zone 6 inches from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can, the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. 3 seconds after your hand moves away from the lid it closes automatically. At top front of the lid there are open and close buttons for manual operation, and there is a on/off power switch on the back of the trash can. This 2nd generation automatic trash can improves sensor sensitivity to prevent accidental opening, and a mechanically superior lid opening mechanism for longer lasting, more durable operation. Fits any regular 32 gallon trash bag. Comes with bag retainer ring to secure and hide the trash bag inside the trash can. Optional AC power adaptor is available.
