Product Reviews of gDiapers Little gPants 2-Pack Orange & Vanilla, MediumProduct Review: These are good in some ways... Summary: 3 Stars
The disposable inserts are a little too expensive. With the rising costs of EVERYTHING, I just can't afford them when the diapers I normally purchase are less than a third of the cost of these. These also leak. The cotton diaper cover felt damp in the front (where my daughter pees) every time I put these on her, even though I was changing them every two hours. I had to wash the cotton covers every time I used one. I also had trouble with the inserts when covered with poo. It was very hard to get them out of the liner without getting any poo on me, the diaper cover, or anything else in close proximity. The covers are cute and seem to be well-designed, but overall, these simply aren't effective enough for me and are far too expensive to boot. I really wanted them to work. I would love to have a green diapering alternative, but these and Nature Babycare (a totally biodegradable disposable) are out of my price range until that day in the distant future when I can refinance and lower my mortgage. I'm not kidding.
Product Review: These are great! Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted to try out the gDiaper after reading about it in a blog, so I ordered the starter kit. I had been using cloth diapers and found that the gDiaper can accommodate a cloth soaker very nicely. I was so happy to have less laundry to do as I am washing mostly cloth soakers now.
I haven't any complaints about leakage--it seems like about the same rate of occurrence as the plastic disposables and a little less than my old cloth method. I was so thrilled with the diaper system that I bought another starter kit and I am pretty much set. That gives me 4 diaper "covers", 8 nylon liners, a couple stacks of flushable soakers for traveling, and two swish sticks for just over $50.00. Very reasonable.
Although I haven't had the opportunity to use the flushable soakers yet, I think this is a great diaper system for someone interested in going cloth (or flushable, if you can afford it).
Product Review: We love gDiapers! Summary: 5 Stars
We love gDiapers! We might not have done cloth diapering at all if it weren't for the ease of the gDiaper system. We use non-gDiaper cloth inserts, but it works well nonetheless.
Product Review: Worth every Aussie cent Summary: 5 Stars
We have been so very pleased with the g diapers. They fit well, are well-made and comfortable, and are completely flushable. On days when I don't feel like ripping them apart and flushing them, I'm still doing the planet a favor by putting something compostable in the trash. I live in an old house with dodgy plumbing, but I can always flush them in two flushes at most.
Last week I noticed that our baby diaper trash was just one bag per week instead of 4-5 as it used to be. (I'm still using disposables at night). One could talk all day about how nice it is to save the environement, but this is a real, tangible contribution, and it's great to see the results. I heartily thank the folks at g diaper for such a terrific product. They are more expensive, but for me, $20 more a month is worth it.
