Product Review: Feel good about using disposable diapers
Summary: 5 Stars

These diapers are great! We used Pampers and Huggies for 13 months before we found these. They are the perfect compromise between disposable diapers and cloth diapers - all the benefits of cloth diapers without having to wash (and rewash, and rewash) nasty fabric liners. We live in an old apartment building so we elected to spare our neighbors the potential plumbing issues of trying to flush these so I can't comment on the true "flushability", but my diaper genie II seems to like them just fine.

Yeah they're a little more expensive, but I would pay a little more so that my diapers biodegrade in 50-150 days (gDiapers) instead of over 500 years (pampers, huggies, etc.).

Product Review: GDiapers are the most environmental disposable on the market!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have been using medium gDiapers for our son from 11-to-now-16 months (25 lbs). They work great! We have a septic tank so we don't flush them. We compost or toss them. We generally remove the diaper in the bathroom and let our son see the poop get flushed. We wipe him and the liner with a wet wipe--since there is generally poop on the liner. Wiping/rinsing the liner is the extra step with a gDiaper. I wash/dry all the diapers and sometimes the liners every few weeks (but drip dry the liners). They've been great. Other people always comment on how cute they are, and I think his transition to the toilet will be easier because of them. We shall see.

We use a disposable at night. We haven't tried a gDiaper at night yet.

The small size is too big for a newborn. We tried them at about 6 weeks and they were just too open at the legs. However, we probably could have reintroduced the small at 6 months.

Product Review: Gdiapers are great!
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me start by saying that it took me over a year and a half to finally get these. I procrasinated because 1) I was worried I'd be changing my baby every 2 hours when she usually gets changed every 4-6 or when she has a BM. 2) I have 2 kids and have Grave's Disease- all leave me tired and weak. 3.) I was afraid of spending a small fortune on diapers.

I finally broke down when I got an awesome coupon code to use for another online store so I decided to try them out. I figured that if I didn't like gdiapers I could always resell them as they hold their value well.

As it turns out, I really don't change my daughter any more frequently than I did with disposable diapers. I used Seventh Generation diapers and gdiapers cost less than $5 more per case (sign up for Amazon's subscription shipping for the refills, you'll save 15%).

Here are a few things I've learned to make using gdiapers easier:

If there is poop in the diaper I keep the diaper folded and then unsnap the liner with the refill intact. It seems to make clean-up easier. I just bring that part to the bathroom to dump out the poop (I don't flush the refill since we have an older septic system) and then I use a wipe to clean off the excess poop from the liner and then wash it with some antibacterial soap and hot water.

I thrown the little g pants and liners that my daughter wore that day into the tub with her. Of course there is no poop on these and no dirtier than she is... I wash them out with her baby shampoo and then just hang them in the shower. They're dry by morning. About once a week or as needed I'll thrown all little g pants and liners in the wash, but washing them in the tub keeps them fresh and I don't run out of the little g pants.

I try to make sure that the refill stays flat. After I put the diaper on my daugther I pull them up so that they fit snugly against her body (as shown on the gdiaper website video) and then I readjust the refill once it is on her by pulling it to the edges of the liner from the inside. I've only had gdiapers leak once and that was when my daughter went to bed early and wasn't changed for about 16 hours. Even then it wasn't a big mess. Just her pajamas and blanket got wet.

If you are strapped for time or change your little one at night I would keep the gdiapers "preloaded" so that they're always ready to go.

My daughter is 16 months old and I use 4 little g pants and 6 liners (2 starter kits) and that has been working fine for me. I also go through about 25 refills a week, just to give you an idea on how many you might need. She is also small for her age- 17 pounds and 30 inches and the mediums fit her well.

Product Review: Good convertible diaper
Summary: 5 Stars

I just bought the starter kit and decided to put them through the test immediately. My daughter slept in these last night and woke up with no leaks. I probably should have changed her immediately after waking but I didn't and they did finally leak about a half hour after waking up. I was concerned about the price as the inserts are more expensive then the disposables we were using but I have been pleased to learn that you can use a cloth prefold just as easily as the disposable insert so I am going to give that a try to save money. I do like that I will have the option of the disposable insert when we are out or when we travel. Hopefully between the two options I can save money and the enviornment! So far so good... and yes, they are really cute and fit MUCH better than the Kushies I had originally tried and given up on.

Product Review: Great alternative to disposables when you need something other than cloth
Summary: 5 Stars

We cloth diaper our baby and have since birth. We were intrigued by the G-Diaper because it decomposed so quickly. We use these when we travel, or when we are expecting an extra messy diaper. They work great and we have rarely had leaks. The actual G-Diaper pant is very soft and the leg elastic won't leave red marks on your baby's legs.
Personally we don't flush the diapers, but have occasionally and they do flush completely. I just worry about overloading our plumbing.
I could also see a disposable diaper user being able to make the switch to the G-Diapers very easily. They are very little hassle.
