Product Reviews of Zyrtec Allergy Tablets 45 ct (10 mg)Product Review: Wait for the right price Summary: 4 Stars
If you can plan in advance by putting this in your shopping or wish list & check back frequnetly, you can get this for under $15, which is a lower cost per unit than any of the other Zyrtec counts I've seen offered thru Amazon or any other drugstore chains in the Boston area.
Product Review: What a savings! Summary: 5 Stars
The exact same product I would buy at the drug store, but for half the price - what could be better than that?
Product Review: Who doesn't want to save money?... Zyrtec works, and this is a great price Summary: 5 Stars
I'm highly allergic to dust mites, pet dander and insect bites -- and I have some seasonal allergies, too. Claritin (loratine) worked for me for about 5 years, but moving to Florida exposed me to year-round blasts of all the things that made me weepy, gave me hives and initiated my sinus infections.
12 years ago, my physician switched me to daily Zyrtec (Cetirizine hydrochloride (pronounced /s''t'r'zi¢°n/), an antihistamine), and I've never looked back. I want to make sure that readers know that I don't rely only on Zyrtec; I'm a faithful user of a HEPA air purifier in my home, and, when I have a pet, I select the "non-allergenic" breeds. I don't know whether my long use has insured that Zyrtec doesn't make me drowsy or lethargic, but I do know that my incidence of sinus infection has dropped to less that one a year, and I'm comfortable even on the muggiest days in Florida.
I'm able to take Zyrtec in the morning, and, last year, the drug went to OTC format, which has really helped reduce the costs for me (under prescription format, with my health insurance, the cheapest I could obtain it was $100 for three months).
This 45 day dosage (10mg) is available in drugstores, and there are commonly sales or coupons. Still and all, the cheapest you can usually find it at retail is for $25 for this dosage, in my area of the country. There is a generic available now, and I've seen it at a big-box store, which will help cut the costs, however,
it is hard to believe that anyone will be able to beat Amazon's price; $15.95 at the date of my writing (the 75 tablet pack for $28.54 is a little more costly); I qualify for Amazon Prime, so shipping is free.
I'm looking forward to saving a lot of money on a allergy product that really helps me this year. I know that Zyrtec doesn't work for everyone, but if it works for you, this is a great buy!
Product Review: Worked but knocked me OUT Summary: 3 Stars
My main response to taking zyrtec is - holy cow. ...For both good and bad reasons!
I have terrible allergies to pollen, dust, mold, etc. and lately it's been so bad that I get extremely stuffed up and wake up with vertigo. Even benadryl isn't quite cutting it anymore. So, I tried zyrtec last night. I took one pill at about 11:30 pm and went to bed. I got up at 7:30 today and barely had the energy to move. I sat down on the couch at about 8:15 and started checking my email and was so drowsy from this medication that I slept for about 2 hours! I would wake up for bits in between but it was soooo hard to keep my eyes open for longer than about 10 seconds. I'm STILL drowsy and it's 11:15! I also felt really dehydrated this morning, even my eyes were dry and that's never the case.
The plus side is that it worked for my allergies. I'm not stuffed up at all (and I did not take the "d" decongestant version - it must all be from the pill clearing up my reaction), I can actually breathe through my nose (amazing, never happens!). I would love to take this all the time!
I'll try cutting it down to half a pill and taking it a few hours before bed so that hopefully the drowsiness will wear off by the next morning.
My recommendation would be - try half a pill first, but in any case, DEFINITELY try this at night, and hopefully not right before a day that will be busy or require much activity!
Product Review: Works Great Summary: 5 Stars
My doctor suggested that I use this product to control my hives and it works great. Just do not skip a dose or it comes right back.
