Product Review: Terrific Energy Bar for a Dark Chocolate Aficionado

I use the Zone Perfect Double Dark Chocolate Bars -- I love dark chocolate, and these bars have a terrific dark-chocolate taste. I sometimes don't have time for lunch, so I keep a few in my desk to help get me through the afternoon. I also need an energy boost before going to an evening martial-arts class, but can't eat a regular meal before class; a single Zone Perfect Double Dark Chocolate bar is the perfect snack, and gives me energy to get through the entire class. My 6yo loves them, too. (He and I will often share a bar -- and sometimes his version of 'share' doesn't leave much for the Daddy!)
A warning about these bars: They have a chocolate coating, which melts easily. This can make them somewhat messy if you're not careful, especially if you're eating them in the office. Even worse, DO NOT HAVE THEM SHIPPED IN HOT WEATHER. If they exposed to an excessively warm environment, the chocolate coating will melt -- and it crystallizes as it cools. As the [typically soft] coating crystallizes, it becomes brittle and flaky, which creates an enormous mess when you eat it. (In fact, you can't even open the wrapper without creating a mess.) I've noticed that this happens if the bars are shipped in hot weather -- just having them left at your door on a hot summer day is enough create this problem -- and it affects the entire box. If you live in a warm location, then either have them shipped to a UPS or FedEx counter, or buy them at a store during the summer months.
Despite the need to keep the bars from getting too warm, they taste great and provide a nice energy burst hen you need it.

I happened upon these bars, they are seriously one of the best nutritional bars I have ever tried, they don't have that odd taste that other bars have. I just wish they didn't melt in the hot weather, so I could stick a few in my golf bag.Product Review: These Bars Are Killer!!!!

this bars are absolutely delicious! the only reason i don't give them a 5 star review is that i am not 100% sure that they are really healthy... glorified candy bars, say some? well, i'd rather have one of these than a snickers bar, since these at least have protein and vitamins. but i would not abuse them, as they will make you gain weight if you eat too many of them, and or if you don't have a comprehensive plan involving proper nutrition, good quality supplements and, of course, healthy exercise!
this dark chocolate line is really tasty, but the double chocolate is my very favorite!!! the only problem is that i've come to think they might be addictive... maybe it's just me, but i've seen other people's comments on this... so, be careful, and as with any other good thing in life... use with moderation!!!
