Product Review: Didn't Work!

I received the unit minus the plastic cover that's supposed to be on top of the light; when I wrote them about it, they said they couldn't do anything about it. I kept using it until the light stopped coming on. At which point I thought maybe the batteries were out. Despite trying four different new Energizers, it still won't work and since it's after the 90 days (I've had it around 11 months) I'm out of luck. :(Product Review: Some Minor Quirks

Short & sweet: I almost returned it because it didn't work out of the box. I then decided to replace the batteries that came with the unit with some new Energizers, and it suddenly worked fine. So...it comes with a pair of off-brand cheap batteries - not a serious problem, but not a sign of a company that's very consumer-oriented (this is admittedly my own personal bias, but it's a strong one. Note to the manufacturer: Don't try to save a buck by placing useless batteries with a product; you only end up annoying the customer).
The only product-related characteristic I didn't particularly like was the 10 second illumination feature. To "disinfect" sink handles, toilet surfaces, keyboards, etc, you have to repeatedly hit the 10-second "on" button to get enough time to cover the whole surface. I would have preferred a preset time that was a bit longer.
Overall, however, it seems to be a pretty good product - just don't return it before you put some real batteries in the unit...

Amazing!! Imagine the health and environmental benifits in eliminating multiple bleach cleanings in hospitals and day-care facilities! As well as the time saved in washing lettuce and vegetables.
But would you trust this product to scan a bacteria laden piece of meat and feed it to your children?
Zadro sites five international testing labratories to back up their claim that this product will disinfect 99.99% of virus and bacteria.
But I've been unable to find any of the test results.
Four of the "Independant Laboratories" are in China and do not answer my email requests. The one and only US/European laboratory referral; Intertek (ETL), lists several 'standard' Zadro lamp tests on their website but none for the Nano-UV Disinfection Light Scanner.
I have emailed requests to both Zadro and ETL for copies of the tests but have yet to receive an answer or verification.
I'll post any further results but if none are pending BEWARE of trusting anything without proof. Especially anything that will endanger your health.

I have given a rating of 5 stars for the easy applied application of using this product.
However since I am unable to rate its effectiveness of actual removal germs and Disinfection of an area, Therefore, I cannot rate its quality.
