What makes this so special is that you can record your own voice for the reminders. My Mom had a kidney transplant years ago and still has to take medicine 5 times a day. Being on time is very important. Unfortunately she recently had a stroke which resulted in short term memory problems. No matter how many watch alarms I bought her, she would still miss doses of her medication. By recording my own voice on this alarm clock and the fact that it keeps keeps alarming until acknowledged, she is doing great on taking her meds. As many people are, hearing the voice of a loved one, instead of a generic alarm or a unfamiliar voice, has more impact. She has been very good about not shutting off the alarm until after taking the meds. I can honestly say that in our family situation, this has been the first product that really worked for my Mom.
