Product Reviews of Yogourmet Extra Batch JarProduct Review: Just a Plastic Jar Summary: 1 StarsOne would think the owners of the yogurt maker would have the common sense to just move their just made yogurt into another container. A free one from used store brand yogurt (that you bought for starter) comes to mind.
What is the world coming to?
1 Yogourmet Jar at $16 = 5 tubs of Stonyfield.
Contents of Yogourmet jar - air
Contents of 5 tubs of Stoneyfield yogurt - A whole lot of yogurt to eat or use as starter for your yogurt maker.
This is a tough decision...
Somebody must be growing the wrong bacteria with their yogurt makers....
I know I'm supposed to write reviews for products I actually bought, but since I did buy the yogurt ,aker that comes with the jar, I think I qua;lify.
Product Review: Glad I ordered the extra jar Summary: 5 StarsI purchased an this extra container when I ordered my Yogourmet yogurt maker. It makes it so simple to set another batch to incubating while the other container is still in the fridge with the last of the previous batch in it. The extra jar is relatively inexpensive and so convenient that I find it to be well worth buying.
Product Review: Extra jar a good idea Summary: 5 StarsI wasn't sure if I *really* needed the extra jar but IT'S NEEDED! It's identical to the one that comes with the Yogourmet and (like the original) it's dishwasher safe. Basically I start the 2nd batch of yogurt when I've only got a couple of days left on the 1st batch. It turns out if I transfer the yogurt to a canning jar for a friend or something it's fine but trying to move an entire 2 liters of yogurt out of the batch jar to make another is just silly so I'm glad I got the 2nd one :D NOTE: The lid is tempting to pick the jar up by but those aren't handles! I haven't dropped it yet but it could happen if I grab by the protruding edges!
Product Review: Good to Have an Extra One or Two!!! Summary: 5 StarsThis is the extra jar you need for the absolute best yogurt maker! I've cultured milk products for over 3 decades and I've found that Yogourmet makes excellent products far superior to the others available. You need to buy an extra batch jar or two, because you will eat far more of this yogurt than you ever thought. I've had several of my jars for decades, as well as some less than a year old. I find them to be sturdy and very easy to clean. They go into the dishwasher and come out like new! I've never had one break or crack and the old ones look as good as the new ones! I have 6 of these. Amazon's price is suddenly higher. I wonder why? I paid between $10-$15 for all of mine.
Product Review: LOVE the jars Summary: 4 StarsI have been making my yogurt in the oven because my jars broke. It is so much easier with jars!! There is only one thing that I don't like about the jars and my warning is: DON'T put them in the dishwasher. It says that they can be put on the top rack, but even there they tend to crack faster than if you don't. At my house there are people who don't understand top rack only, and if you make this mistake the jars are toast almost immediately!! I buy them three at a time so I have one for the fridge, one busy in the yogourmet, and one to wash for the next batch. :-)
