Product Reviews of Yogourmet Electric Yogurt Maker

Product Review: 9 month review for Yogurmet yogurt maker
Summary: 3 Stars

The maker has fins on the inside (which hold the container off the bottom)which make it very difficult to wipe the inside clean, with crud accumulating in the corners.

I strongly recommend buying an extra container (even if it is overpriced) and not over-filling it. The lid snaps shut, but it has also come loose while in the maker, and while trying to lift the full container in and out of the maker, with disastrous results. Instead of relying on the knob built into the container top, I try to grasp it by the sides, but there is very little clearance. It is always a "hold-your-breath' moment. Otherwise, I have no complaints with this unit.

Product Review: A great product!

It saves us a LOT of money (75% by my reckoning) and it produces very tasty yogurt from 2% milk. Make the yogurt (4 hours exactly) and immediatly transfer to refridgerator (this firms it up perfectly for use next day).

Product Review: Amazing Yogurt maker
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading many reviews about different yogurt makers I settled with this one because of the ease of the 2 quart container. Really easy to make yogurt in four hours. I am buying one for my mom as a gift.

Product Review: At last!
Summary: 5 Stars

Electric Yogurt Maker 2 Quarts This yogurt maker solves the problem of heat distribution I have found with every other maker I have tried. Because the container of yogurt is surrounded by water, heat doesn't come just from the bottom yielding an overcooked bottom and a runny top.

I am still experimenting with formulae. Here's a one quart recipe that works quite well: 2 c fat-free instant milk powder, 2 heaping soup spoons of Dannon plain yogurt, and enough water to fill a quart canning jar. I pour enough water around the jar to bring the level as close to the yogurt mixture level as possible. As for timing, you'll just have to watch it. I have tried to hurry things by pouring in water close to 110 degrees, but results have been mixed.

I haven't tried making a 2 quart batch yet.

There's no need to buy extra jars--canning jars and empty quart yogurt containers work just fine.

Product Review: Best customer Service

My Yogurt Maker quit working and the company sent me a replacement and a check for the postage it cost me to mail the defective product back. A very honorable company.
