Product Reviews of Wristech Blood pressure monitor

Product Review: Not worth your money
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought for personal use three months ago, the first few times it worked alright but I never used it more than 10 times before it stopped working. I thought perhaps the batteries were low, I exchanged with new ones but it will not inflate at all. Do not not throw your money away cheap is expensive. I now have to spend money on another one.

Product Review: Sort of Disappointed
Summary: 2 Stars

I experimented with the placement of this monitor on my wrist and level of it relative to my heart. It seemed to be relatlive consistent in most all positions but the readings were quite high to what I was accustomed to what my Doctor typically found when blood pressure was checked in his office so he placed a 24 hr monitor on me to record readings about every 15 minutes. The printout of those readings showed very slight variation in my blood pressure but consistently 20-25 points LOWER than what the wrist monitor had been showing. I'v concluded that the wrist monitor is CONSISTENT but reads higher than my actual blood pressure. Knowing this doesn't discourage me from recommending the monitor so long as one is willing to accept this error reading and compensate for it when taking their blood pressure with it.

Product Review: Totally defective and non-reliable
Summary: 1 Stars

Bought one at Menards to monitor my BP. Next morning BP 198/110, so paid visit to my doctor ($120), where BP was 136/80 (my normal). That day, repeatedly compared readings of Writech with other machines and used different positions and different arms. Results showed usual readings 20 or so higher, with occasional readings out of sight. So returned to Menards and talked to manager, and showed him the high readings on the memory. Next week I noticed Menards had resolved the problem by reducing the price to just $12. Well, at the price I thought I would give it a second chance. This one worse then the first. Again, checked machine on different arms in different locations on wrist with different cuff machines and even again at my doctors office. Again, usually at least 20 higher on the systolic. The pulses seem accurate though on both machines. A number of times got systolic readings over 200, one being 252, which would have been get to the emergency room if I had not known the unit was probably defective. Again returned to Menards and talked to manager and explained the problem. As these are a health care monitoring device, and not just some hand tool, I asked the manager to remove the defective stock from the floor and not just reduce the price to $12 to get them off the floor. He refused and instead ordered me out of the store and called the police to have me arrested. So now I have carried on a small campaign with a few friends outside Menards using a bullhorn and some signs asking that they remove the defective junk and not just offer it for sale at a discount to unsuspecting buyers. Menards manager insists unit is accurate, but will not test one himself, just refures to the corporate office in Wisconsin. The head office states they have refered the problem to the (un-named) Chinese manufacturer. Of course, these machines are probably produced in some sweat shop dingy factory where the workers get a buck an hour and bust their backs for 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week. No real quality control, other then maybe seeing occasionally that the batteries work and the screen lights up. No way of course to even contact the Chinese manufacturer as just listed as "made in China." If the units turn out defective, the manufacturer will just sell that production equipment to the next small operator who will produce the same defective unit under a new brand name.
Bottom line, totally defective and even dangerous. The high readings are painful to the wrist and could result in an unnecessary doctors visit by a frightened senior citizen. Although I have not been able to get a low reading, if the unit is defective one way there could be some defective the low way as well, in which case it would result in not catching a problem and not visiting a doctor and result in a stroke or even a death. As a sometimes litigator, I certainly would not want that type of product liability hanging over my corporate head. Menards should dump this junk in the trash can where it belongs. Product Review: Very Dissatisfied
Summary: 1 Stars

Just received this product and it's readings are inaccurate by 20 points. Tried it numerous times and had 2 family members also try it. The same thing happened. The reading was off by at least 20 points higher. I am very AGGRAVATED and DISAPPOINTED that the product DOES NOT WORK! Now I have to go through the hassel of shipping it back.

Product Review: Very inaccurate
Summary: 1 Stars

I've had mine for about 9 months. It is terribly inaccurate. It will produce results as much as 20 points different on consecutive readings. Not reliable.
