My husband was told he needed a waterpik by our dentist. We picked the cordless so he wouldn't have to hassle with extra items on our bathroom counter (plus it was smaller than the other types). Excellent water pik; recommended by consumer reports. I had had one before, very messy and difficult to use. This one is much, much better; it's so easy and fast to use it encourages use every time I brush my teeth. This is a rechargable water pick. Although it is a little bulky, it is smaller than my sinktop home pick and fits well in my travel kit. You could use it at home, but I bought mine for travel. It is not quite as powerful, but gets the job done nicely. Has a variety of tips for special needs. It seems to hold a charge pretty well, you have to charge it for several hours before the first use, so if you are planning on traveling with it, I recommend you do that a few days in advance. The water reservoir seems large enough as well. No complaints here.
