I was shopping for a new tank valve/gasket for mine** when I saw the 1 star review by MRS Whateverhernameis and I had to give my more educated opinion in the interest of fairness. This water pik is a huge leap forward from the old one and I went through 3 of the old models over the years. I use this machine every night with a little mouthwash diluted with warm water. It is super quiet compared to the old hammering noisemakers it replaced. As for the lady saying the water went evrywher exept the tip, She did not pull back the spring loaded end to slip the tip in and that is what will happen if not inserted all the way. Please read the instructions as not all items are idiot proof---uhh thats just an old saying(**BTW my wife dropped the gasket/valve down the sink when she was cleaning it!) I have had this product almost a year now and I don't know what I would do without it. Although I think it is about time for my brush attachment to get replaced for the first time, this product has gone above and beyond my expectations. I'll admit I may be one of the lucky ones because my product has lasted so long. I use it at least 4 times a day to clean my braces after I eat anything. After reading some reviews on here I thought my unit would have busted a long time ago. I only use it on the 5 setting and always make sure to dump the extra water out when I'm done (not sure if that does anything). So I'm crossing my fingers that it will continue to last and I will not be mad if it eventually fails on me. I'll just get another one.Product Review: A good product

My dentist recently recommended I use a waterpik. I had one many years ago but decided I needed a new one because the water container of that one was a little cruddy (we have hard water where I live) so I purchased the waterpik ultra because the water container had a lid and it had several different attachments. Overall, I like this product, there are a few drawbacks however. I tend to run out of water and must refill the container and I don't like some of the attachments, like another reviewer the tongue attachment gives me feeling of drowning.Product Review: A great addition to mouth cleaning gears

I Bought this unit because my dentist recommended a waterpik. I have periodontal conditions so I need to take good dental care now. I would use it two or three times a day because it is very convenient. The pressure can be adjusted but 8 is already plenty strong for me. The water reservoir is big enough that I only need about 2/3 of it for a complete wash.
