Customer Review: Decent but Very Expensive for Chinese Plastic

The Wahl self cut unit does a decent job if you get a good one, although it takes some practice. I've used Wahl beard trimmers for decades with little or no trouble. These new Wahl self cut clippers are not as good as what Wahl offered years ago in the beard trimmer product line. The first Wahl self cut that I purchased was defective out of the box. The plastic latch for the 360 degree swivel would not lock. Unusable. Amazon replaced the first defective. The second one broke after two uses. The inside of the clipper mechanism is cheap plastic and one of the plastic pieces inside broke off and fell out, causing the clipper to stop working. I contacted Wahl. Wahl customer service is not prompt. I waited over three weeks for Wahl to send me a return label by mail. Finally they sent the return label. I returned this second defective Wahl self cut and I'm waiting for them to send me a replacement. I hope that they don't try to repair it. It's all plastic except for the clipper blades.
