Product Reviews of Wahl 9918-6171 Groomsman Beard and Mustache TrimmerProduct Review: It gets too hot Summary: 2 Stars
The blades move too fast that the unit gets too hot very quickly.
Product Review: It's OK Summary: 3 Stars
My face itches when it's clean shaven, so I use the mustache trimmer to keep a day old stubble instead. I got this model because of reviews that said it shaved closer than the other brands, but it doesn't shave as close as the mustache trimmer attachment on my old Norelco shaver, which broke recently. It also gets pretty hot while it's running.
Product Review: It's like shaving with a lawn mower Summary: 2 Stars
Had this about 2 months now. Great shaver. Works well. Easy to use, but it's so loud that I have trouble using for any length of time near my ears. I thought about using earplugs or purchasing a different shaver. So there's a notable downside to this shaver.
Product Review: It's ok Summary: 2 Stars
Not as user friendly as previous Wahl's I've owned. Too many attachments to keep up with and change out. I liked my old Wahl where I simply changed the number setting and got a uniform cut.
Product Review: It's ok for the price Summary: 3 Stars
From the reviews, I expected a little more from this trimmer. The actual trimmer does seem pretty good, but the attachments are abysmal.
The 3 fixed-length attachments just kinda sit on the blades, held on by little plastic tabs. These attachments are made from flexible plastic, so I worried about them falling off. They don't snap on firmly, which would be satisfying. The adjustable attachment is such a pain to put on. I thought I would break it for sure. Taking it off was the same. Fortunately, I never use that one.
The plastic base and included 'case' are jokes. Also, the AC adapter is huge.
This trimmer is very inexpensive, which is good, but I'd gladly pay a bit more for higher quality attachments and a more portable AC adapter. I suppose I should have shopped around a bit more.
