Product Review: A Very Nice Little Trimmer

I purchased this trimmer to assist in removing long hairs on my neck below my beard that seemed to be invulnerable to my safety razor. It works like a charm to clean up my neck and trim my moustache. There's nothing very fancy about it - it just works great. See hair - shave hair away! This is one of those gadgets that - once you buy it - you will wonder why you didn't get one years ago.

Have bought and used this trimmer since 2008. This is a great product as are all Wahl products I've used so far. I also own the Wahl 79111-100 and loved it! The steel blade construction sets this trimmer apart from the rest of the aluminum head timmers. Although the aluminum trimmers achieve a closer cut around areas of fine hairs, it sorta "hangs up" when it gets to tougher, thicker hair. The Wahl trimmer doesn't have this problem and it's a good trade-off imho. The steel construction means this Wahl trimmer will outlast many of the cheaper aluminum head kinds. Which it has in my houselhould. Another great plus is the versatility of using either cordless or plug-in. Overall, highly recommmeded!!

For the cheap cost of this trimmer, you can't go wrong! I love it, the battery lasts long, it comes with tons of clips and the one adjustable 5 setting clip and it's a very nice package for it's price. Very comfy and a nice grip, I look forward to trimming now that I have this wonderful trimmer in my life. I really don't think you can go wrong with this purchase!

P.S. I buy a lot of stuff at amazon.com and I NEVER review it, I suppose it's cause I think it's "too out of the way" to do, but I love this product so much that it was time to change that!

Product Review: Almost perfect

This is an upgraded product from Wahl. They took their Groomsman and made it much better but not quite perfect. The Pros: Easy to use. Comes with easy to use attachments for trimming to any desired length. Well balanced. Extra button on the switch insures that when I pack it for a short trip, it doesn't get turned on and arrive with no charge left. Easy to clean. Stays sharp. It can run on either the power/charging cord or cordless when charged.
In fact there is just one element to this trimmer which holds it back from being perfect.
Cons: Eventually the trimmer just doesn't hold a charge as well. It took almost two years before I became unhappy with it's charging capacity. It would have been nice to be able to buy a replacement battery but there are no instructions for doing so. The old Groomsman trimmers opened easily so a replacement battery could be inserted. Now I have the choice of using it only as a corded trimmer or replacing it with a new trimmer.
I elected to buy another Groomsman 9918-6171. As I said, it is almost perfect and so few things in life are perfect.
