This is our second Wahl clipper. The first lasted 20+ years and my son took it with him to the Army. This new one lacks the quality of the first. The primary problem it the connection of the motor to the blade is plastic. The plastic works loose from the blade, causing the clipper to stop working. It requires a simple disassembly to fix the trouble (2 screws)but it is annoying to have to do it every 10-15 minutes. The $10 Conair clipper that we bought from Dollar General work much better. The extra doodads that come with the Wahl clipper are nice, but unnecessary. The scissors are junk, and who needs 12 different guides? 4 guides are enough for our family anyway. If I could return the Wahl clipper for a refund, I would.Product Review: Disgusting

I bought these clippers about 4 months ago and I have probably cut my hair with them about 6 or 7 times. After this period of time, they immediately went bad or dull and it kept snagging my hair (I normally have short hair). They were abnormally loud and my wife was warning me not to use them. Not listening to my better half, I used the clippers, I had to torture myself by finish up and it was very painful. Afterwards, I immediately threw those clippers away and I would never buy Wahl products again. A complete waste of money!Product Review: Does the job

This is our second clipper in 2 years and so far, so good. It has a little bit of weight and power to it which I like. I do my husband's hair and occasionally my 20-something son's. As long as you keep the blades oiled (included) it does not pull and does a nice job. I am not a professional and I only do basic cuts/trims which is easy to do with this tool. I use the included scissors to trim eyebrows (yes, they're that long) and around the ears. I do not bother with the little battery-operated clipper included...no power and a waste. First time ever attempting a home haircut. The assortment of guides certainly made this easy for a complete novice to use. Basically, put the right guide on use it, switch to the next one and go. I used 5 of the guides total and very satisfied with the results. I used the ones that left the hair the longest first so I had room to fix anything I didn't like but I didn't end up needing to fix anything. I'm not sure that this is the way to go for anyone wanting over 1" length hair but anything under 1" and you're set. Nice complete kit with a strong quiet motor in a nylon case with room for everything. I couldn't have asked for better!
