Get's the stink out of my lycra clothes. I have a lot of sport wicking clothes, golf shirts, underwear, under armor. This stuff works great. Much better than anything else we tried.Product Review: Outstanding product...(I can't believe I'm reviewing a laundry detergent!.)

Outstanding detergent...NOT only for athletic clothes...seems to remove other residual odors too (towels). Beyond the immediate cleaning of sweaty athletic clothes...It seems to remove that locked in odor that seems to be only be made dormant by other detergents... What I'm trying to say...is did you ever have a workout shirt that seems fine after it's laundered and right when you put it on......but the slightest bit of wetness seems to bring out past odors? I.e. You stink a lot more than you should for how much you've perspired! Consequently, you'd avoid wearing workout clothes for everyday wear...and vise versa... ). This stuff breaks that rule.
An added bonus for me...I have a history of allergic reactions (itch) to certain detergents...after many years settled on cheer...but still seems to give me some trouble... Although unscientific...and I can't tell you how it will workout long term...but I seem to have no adverse reaction at all.....possibly because this stuff is not really perfumed... smells fresh...but not perfumed...
We're going to start using this for all of our laundry...great stuff. Note: I haven't evaluated how it is for stains...but suspect it's competitive with others...Probably not an issue for us anyway...no small kids...
For me...the fact I'm even writing a review on this stuff...speaks volumes.
Product Review: Smells lovely but simply doesn't work as advertised....

I have been using Penguin's brand of Sports Wash for the past 12 months and love it. Unfortunately, my local grocery store for some reason stopped selling it and decided to carry this brand. I was 'sold' on the product when I saw the Olympic logo on it and the word 'oxygenating'. I figured if Olympic athletes use it and is 'oxygenates' then it should be GREAT for us, right? Well $7.99 later (for 1 bottle purchased locally) I still have some musty smelling towels and some not so fresh smelling clothes.
I found out that there are two different types of 'odor removing detergents' on the marketplace. One type has a nice fragrance to it and the others are unscented or wtih BARELY any scent. I found the latter ones work to TRULY remove any offending odors while the formers ones remove MOST of the offending odors then mask the rest of the stench with their lovely fragrance. I'm telling you, no matter how lovely your fragrance smells, the musty towels are STILL musty if all of the stinky stench is not washed out of it!
To back up a little, my husband is an avid biker. Regardless of how quick his workout clothes get washed, over time, they start to smell - even when they are clean. I discovered Penguin's sports wash at my local grocer and decided to give it a try. I was BLOWN AWAY!! There were several items of his that I had planned to simply toss if I couldn't get the smell out...I tried OxyClean, 20Mule Borax, White Vinegar, eco friendly oxygenating powders, Febreeze Odor remover detergent (a HUGE waste of money by the way!), baking soda...hot water, cold water...even though after washing them they obviously smelled a lot better, you could still smell the faint odor of musty sweat (I know...gross). Well ONE wash with this Penguin's detergent and I swear, EVERY BIT of any offensive odor was GONE! So I started to use it as a staple if my little one had a nighttime accident in bed and happen to conviently toss his 'wet pajamas' in the laundry room in an area where I didn't look for a few days - (now that stench can make anyone cry), musty towels from being accidently left in the washing machine over a weekend, wet clothes from playing in the rain, car grease smell from my husband working on his car, stinky clothes from when the kids get 'sick', etc, etc, etc. It has NEVER failed me. I THINK there may have been 1 or 2 incidents where my husband took off his work out shirt and tossed it in the garage then proceeded to wash his car or something...I did have to wash those items 2x but still, it worked like a charm...100% of the smell was gone.
But this Win detergent, removed most of the odors and masked the remaining stench. The remainder of the stink was so faint that I didn't realize it until I pulled things out of the dryer. If I'm going to have MOST of the odor removed and then mask the rest of the stinkiness, I might as well use regular scented detergent!
I do not recommend this product. While it comes close, it doesn't come close enough in my opinion to justify the cost in addition to regular detergent. Not to mention that it's not eco-friendly.

This detergent is outstanding. It removes the smells from your clothes that you may have thought could never come out again. I play a lot of golf and in the summer, when it's hot and humid, my clothes are soaked all the way through. After a beverage or two I get home and my clothes have dried off, and boy, do they smell. You know what I'm talking about. This detergent gets it out and everything comes out smelling fresh again. I read about it in a golf magazine and they were right!Product Review: WIN

This is a decent product. It does a good job of removing odors from workout clothing. Sometimes you have to use more than is recommended for loads of more than a few items to clean them well or after particularly sweaty workouts to really get the smell out. All in all it gets the job done.
