I specifically chose this one because I don't have a pillow-top mattress, so I didn't want or need a protector that had a very tall height, as some do. This one was 9", and since my mattress is 8" thick this fit perfectly. At the time of my purchase, this one seemed to be the best no-nonsense, waterproof, bacteriaproof, etc. cover for the price. It slid on easily enough (with two people putting it on), fit the mattress perfectly, and zippered shut nicely. The 6 guage material seems heavy enough to last but isn't perceptible under our sheets or "crinkly".Product Review: Tears easily

I bought this even after reading reviews complaining about how it tore when it was being put on the mattress. I was very careful putting it on to make sure it didn't tear. I thought I was successful. However, when changing the sheets and mattress pad I put over it later that week, I discovered that it had subsequently split right up the center of the bed. Since then, every time I change the sheets I find a new tear. This is just with regular use of the bed. I would NOT recommend this to anyone!Product Review: Works well but bad zipper

I purchased this product to protect our mattress from baby messes when my daughter is born. With two people it was relatively easy to put on. I have a mattress pad over it and I'd never really know it was there. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the zipper is so cheap. Even with plenty of slack the zipper kept sticking and the zipper actually snapped completely off the very first time we zipped it shut. It's too bad they put such a poor zipper in what is otherwise a fine product. My mattress is exactly the max inches specified if you measure seam to seam on the mattress, in case that helps anyone else in trying to size things. It fits like a glove, but might not if I had a pillow top mattress.Product Review: okay

This product was okay for us. It lasted about a year and kept our mattress dry when our toddlers crawled into bed with us and then peed themselves...and us. Our boys also jumped on our bed and the seams came apart and the zippers ripped off so really it was just like having a piece of plastic on the bed. It's also not very breathable so on a warm summer night, we were often too warm and sticky. We ended up putting a mattress pad on top of it and that helped the breathability ... but it's still not ideal. It'll definitely come off and never get back on as soon as our boys don't have accidents anymore.
