This is a very sturdy product, considering the fact that it is vinyl. I purchased it to completely enclose a twin-size mattress. We sold our home and bought a new one. I didn't want the mattress on the floor of the moving van, getting dirty. The mattress cover survived the move without a single tear and the zipper remained intact. (The box spring was covered in a different product and didn't make out well at all.)The service from this vendor was exceptional also - very fast. The item looks alright but it tore in two spots as I was putting it on my mattress, even though I was trying to be especially careful (because of the warning from the other reviews). Once on, I'm sure it'll do it's job but it doesn't seem very durable.
