Product Review: Good thermometer, not waterproof

We have been through numerous more expensive thermometers that give inaccurate temperature readings. This one seems to work well. Our only complaint is that when you wash it off, it's easy to get water in the battery compartment or in the LCD display which causes the thermometer to stop working. This has happened twice now but thankfully it starts working again after drying out. I wish they had made it totally waterproof since it's easy to get water inside. Our infant son doesn't seem to mind this thermometer at all, he doesn't fuss when we use it.Product Review: Great Thermometer!!!

I highly recommend this thermometer. I purchased it prior to the birth of my son, who is now 3 years old, and it is still accurately working. The tip is just the right size so no fear of hurting a tushie.Product Review: Hospital Accurate

After 6 straight nights in the ER with our daughter having 104+ fevers we asked the nurse if we could check the accuracy of ours when they took her temp, it was exact. The hospital grade thermometer took longer and gave the same results. The Vicks Baby Rectal Thermometer was even used while she slept and it did not disturb her while we still received an accurate temp for her vital sign check.
Great product and recommend it to all, only wish it was more readily available especially overseas.

I LOVE this thing. Lame... I know, but when it comes to fever's I literally sweat myself with panic. I am just an anxious person when it comes to my kids wellness, and I am a thermometer-a-holic. I have gone through old fashion one's, digital one's, I even have an expensive forehead scanner, and I will tell you they are just crap when it comes to accuracy in young children. I get a different temp every time with the scanner, and it got awsome reviews from so many! Anyways, I am not comfortable with the thought of "invasive" procedures for my kids, so rectal has always been out for me. I was so wrong, it is easy, simple and thank the heaven's... accurate! I don't know why I assumed that taking a rectal temp means it went far in, it doesn't it barely goes in, so it's no big deal. My daughter is 3 and it was the first time I have taken her temperature rectally and for the FIRST time, I trust the results. This is great. Man I sound lame.Product Review: Must have for newborns!!

This was a fabulous thermometer. The doctor always rolls their eyes when you do an ear or under arm temp -- but I could always say that it was a rectal temp -- easy to use and clean.
