Even with a fussy, wiggling, unhappy sick baby this was easy and felt safe to use. This is a great thermometer. You ALWAYS need to get a rectal temperature for your baby. Don't waste your time with anything else.Product Review: easy, fast, and safe

I was so scared the first time I went to use it, but I read the directions about 5 times, and found that it was easy.
I did it the first time when my son was 1 month old, on his back holding his ankles up, like when I change his diaper. It worked fine, and I could hold him still for the 10 seconds until it beeped. He didn't even seem to notice it was there.
I think it's very accurate. When I've thought his temp was high, it's read 99.8 or 99.1. So I know not to worry yet.

I own this thermometer, the braun ear thermometer and a safety first thermometer. This one is by far the best. It is the perfect size and fit in your hand, and there is like no chance of inserting it too far. It gives a quick accurate reading and really just works so good. the safety first one works but is long and skinny, alittle scary putting in a babies behind! Ane I have to be honest I have never used the ear thermometer because generally the DR. wants a rectal because it is the most accurate and they say the ear thermometers are really hard to use, so I wouldn't recommend wasting the money on it. Get this one, you won't be sorry!Product Review: so far the best themometer

So far it is the best thermometer. I have had a very bad experience with ear thermometer before. So this one is fast, preatty accurate, and easy to use.
