I purchased the Vicks baby rectal thermometer for my daughter to use on our new grandson when the need arises. Clinicians prefer rectal temps when there is serious concern due to inherent accuacy and direct body core readings. I also purchased the Kidz-Med 5-in-1 digital thermometer for more casual asessments. Both appear to be accurate and well-made. Anything that helps keep the little guy safer and more comfortable is a welcome asset. We are very pleased with both products, but don't consider their use to be completely interchangeable. As usual, Amazon and its sellers deliver exceptional quality, value, rapid delivery, and customer service. I should also mention how much I appreciate feedback from other Amazon customers and sources such as Consumer Reports.
