Product Review: Better than others I've tried

I've owned 4 or 5 other humidifiers. I've had leaky ones, noisy ones, and ones that get really dirty and nasty after a short period of use.
So far, with this humidifier, my experience has been different. We liked the first one so much that we have bought one for each of our bedrooms, and now we own 4 of them. We threw away, or gave away the other humidifiers. The filters are fairly inexpensive and usually last 3-4 months before they need replacement.
The tank is easy to fill, and easy to carry. If you can carry a 1 gallon milk jug, you can probably carry this tank. I also like the fact that the tray can be removed and put in the dishwasher. Very handy for cleanup.

Well it is quiet, easy to fill and whatnot, but this thing seemed to humidify my room by soaking the carpet. I never moved the unit, followed the directions and it all seemed to be functioning normally... I refilled it once a day for a couple days and noticed that wet spots were popping up nearby the unit and later realised that it was constanty leaking water through the drain plug. So I put it in a plastic tub to catch the water and saw that about 2/3 of the water I had put in the tank was just running back out of the unit and down into the carpet padding. My guess is the plunger on the drain cap was defective, but regardless it is a huge and messy disappointment! After throwing it away, (I lost the receipt), and cleaning the carpet extensively I would reccomend getting a different humidifier.Product Review: Big disappointment

I bought this and hoped to use it the same night because my daughter had a cold and my last humidifier broke down literally the day before she came down with this cold. SO I unwrapped it and followed all the instructions and plugged it in and nothing but LOUD noise came out, even on the lowest setting. No mist at all. Then I read the pamphlet and apparently, even though it didn't state so on the box, it was an evaporative humidifier which meant I wasn't going to see any mist because the water passes through the filter and then moist air, not water, is blown out the vent. SO the only way to tell if it iss working is to watch to see if the water level goes down. I let it run all day and when I checked again, the water level moved about an 8th of an inch and we had to shut if off at night because it was so loud we couldn't sleep. Sadly, that is when we needed it most but it hardly mattered. It did not work at all. I felt no difference in the room whatsoever even with it running all day. Maybe I had a defective one but I returned it anyway because even if it worked, that noise level was too much to handle.Product Review: Breathing easy in Afghanistan

I ordered this product to help me breathe better during my stay in Afghanistan; even during the rainy season here the air here is very dry and full of dust. I am very pleased with this product. I keep the humidifier on a shelf four feet above the floor and pointing toward the head of my bed about eight feet away. I fill it ONLY with bottled water and have had it running 24 hours a day on its low setting for a month now. I am also still on the original wicking filter which has survived the dust surprisingly well. I have noticed that when I turn it back on after refilling the reservoir that the fan runs slower than normal in the low mode, but this takes care of itself after a short while. I have had no problems with moisture build-up on the floor or walls. I also haven't had any problems with "white residue", probably due to using bottled water. I am the only person in my living quarters not suffering from nose bleeds due to dry air. Again, I am very satisfied with this product. My only complaint is with the shipping, the company does not ship to APO / FPO addresses as they do not use the USPS.Product Review: Broke in 2 weeks

This humidifier broke within a couple of weeks. It makes a clicking sound I can't make go away, and it goes through water very quickly. I found out today that it goes through water so quickly because it was leaking on my dresser and has now ruined it.
I bought a Crane humidifier for my son, and that works great--quiet, no leaks, etc. This one is terrible, and I have to suck up the $30 I paid. It's going in the trash now.
