I recieved the humidifier earlier this afternoon. It was extremly easy to set and start up. I left it on for about two hours before putting it to the test. I am extremly happy that I did not wake up with a dry scratchy throat; which mean that this Humidifier did a good job.

I've owned many humidifiers over the years, and most have been a disappointment. This unit is no exception.
A few things to note. As another reviewer mentioned, the cap requires Herclean strength to open. Fortunately you don't need to completely tighten it to get a good seal. We cleansed it before the first use, however there was a very chemical odor for the first several days. I suspect it was the filter which was packed in the unit and likely absorbed some of the plastic scent over time.
We purchased this unit for use in our infants small bedroom. It's noisy on either setting. Noise is common in most humidifiers and in fact is a plus for us as the noise helps block out sounds from other parts of the house while our child is sleeping. So no points knocked for noise from us.
After many months of use it became clear this winter that the unit was incapable of keeping any moisture in the modestly sized room it was operating in. In fact if it weren't for the fact that when I placed the unit in front of a window, and water droplets began to materialize on the glass after many hours, I would have questioned whether the unit worked at all.
Perhaps this humidifier would be more effective in an even smaller room, though at some point you have to wonder if it's worth the time and money to keep your broom closet moist.
We've since purchased a Lasko humidifier and the difference was immediately noticeable. The room is now the most comfortable in the house and real pleasure to hang out in. We're hopeful the Lasko holds up, but so far so good.

This cool mist humidifier works fairly well at its stated job. However it is extremely noisy and too loud to run at night in a bedroom even at the lower speed. It's so loud we can hear it through the hardwood floor to our family room below. I recently purchased a Crane humidifier for my son's room and it's extremely quiet. Even though it's an animal shape, I'll try that one for my room rather than this one.Product Review: Great little humidifier at a nice price

This is the first humidifier that I've ever purchased, and I'm very happy with the results. It's small enough to fit on my nightstand, and the Low setting is quiet enough to fall asleep to. Operation is simple, and it worked right out of the box. I've had no spills or leakage of any kind.
I use this just for my bedroom, which is small. I'm not sure how it would fare in a larger space, but it works wonderfully if you're just looking to raise the humidity in a single room.
After one night I noticed a difference in the quality of my sleep. And it was the first time in a few weeks that I haven't woken with a headache from the dry air. It's nothing fancy, but this little humidifier is enough for me.
