Product Review: Versastile Lamp Helps Insomniac

I bought this lamp for its gentle light "alarm" to wake me in the morning, but it turns out that I appreciate it more at night. I love the night time features: nature sounds and/or lamp, set on a timer that gradually decreases brightness and volume. There are four time options for how long the timer can be set, up to one hour. I find that when I read, or work a Sudoku puzzle, with the light gradually dimming, I get sleepy and am able to doze off much quicker than when I use a conventional lamp. The morning alarm features are nice, with the gradually increasing brightness and volume -- a kinder, gentler way to wake up.Product Review: Very cool!

Just started using this lamp.
It is a great concept and I love that Im not waking up in the dark.
Reminds me of when I was a kid and used to get to wake up after the sun had risen.
(Not like these days when I wake up at 5:30 or 6:00 am because I have ten thousand things Im supposed to be doing as an adult...)
The lamp is well built.
My only complaints are that the white version isnt really white.
It's an unfortunate color of putty, like a PC from 1992.
Im returning mine for the graphite version.
The other complaint is that the read out panel is difficult to read.
The contrast is insufficient.
Im still using my previous alarm clock to tell the time.
Outside of those two things I love the lamp.
Product Review: Wake Up Sleepy Head!

My husband and I have a horrible time getting up when it is still dark outside so we decided to try the Verilux Rise and Shine. He did the homework on it and I ordered it. After setting it up, all it would do was make this horrible screaming sound...one of our boys asked if we had a portal to hell in our bedroom, it was that bad. However, I called the company and they immediately knew what the problem was and sent a new one to us. I love waking up to a lighted room and like the sounds. I do think that the LED is too bright if you like to sleep in a dark room, as I do...even when you put it on dim and switch it to the red setting. Also a bit hard to read...I would suggest that Verilux include a cd player at the price that you pay so you could personalize it a bit because the radio is not really playable. Love the light and the rain sound though. The company is great to work with and is very receptive to any comments and suggestions. If you have to get up early in the winter, this is an excellent investment.Product Review: Way too expensive; do they still make it?

After watching this product for a year or 2 I finally splurged on it. I loved it!! I had this for a while and I really liked it except it was a little nursing-home-looking or orthopedic-shoe-like. It took up a lot of table space. The wake up illumination took the right amount of time & when it got bright, it was BRIGHT & I could actually get out of bed. Then one day suddenly the sunrise option stopped working. I went to the manufacturer website and could not find the product anymore. The clock kept working but I can't get out of bed with a normal alarm I think I didn't even hear it. It seemed like the light lasted just slightly more than a year.
I did not think the nature sounds were that high quality. I have many nature CDs but I never used these nature sounds. The loop was not very long and I think they are western birds not the most beautiful sounding to my ears.
I planned on having this light FOREVER and even bought extra bulbs and the lamp part BROKE before I had to replace the bulbs. I have used other products from this company with great results. And I liked this a lot & almost talked myself into buying another when it broke then I couldn't find it. It idd not really make a good lamp to read by night, it was a little complicated to operate, so I kept another lamp nearby for reading.

I wanted an alarm clock that didn't have radio as its main function and found this one. I love it. It helps me fall asleep as well as wake up and I don't do the whole squinting thing when I wake up.
