Customer Review: Could be worse, could be better

I was very excited to try out this lamp because I have a very hard time waking up before the sun comes up. I have similar complaints:
1. The high pitched noise at low light levels wakes me up instantly. I tried tightening the light bulb as another review suggested but that didn't work. I was hoping to be gently awakened by gradual light, but instead I wake up to a high pitched noise every day.
2. The sound coming on at the same time as the light is just a bad idea. It would be nice to have the light come on and then have the sound kick in 5-10-15 minutes later.
3. The soundscapes all seem to have one annoying sound in them.
Still, despite its flaws, I do find it to be easier to wake up with this than it is to wake up with a traditional alarm clock and no light.
Great idea, but it could use some work. Who tested this thing?
