Product Review: Lamp serves it's purpose

I purchased this lamp for work. I work at a computer all day dealing with numbers and very small print (6 pt. fonts). It's perfect. I don't find it bottom heavy at all. There is no glare and I find it lights the area sufficiently. Much better than the overhead lighting in the office.Product Review: Looks better than picture

I received this in the mail yesterday. I was skeptical and it was actually not the style lightbulb I anticipated. However I absolutely love it. I want to order a second one for home office. The design is much sleeker than the picture. I expected a clunky off balance lamp and received a sleek adjustable just the right weight lamp. I used it at the office all day today and was in the best mood I have been in for a long time! I bought this lamp to replace my last. There is a light on the ceiling, but I thought it would be nice to have a lamp for reading, but when the light is on, the lamp light is almost invisible. In the night, when only the lamp is on, the light is very focused... and dim.Product Review: Love This Lamp!!

I bought this light when I started my new job where my desk has NO natural light - actually our entire work area is missing natural light - so I wanted something bright but not the usual crappy fluorescent bulbs.
I've never actually bought a natural light lamp like this but it works fantastic. After spending a week on the job in what felt like a dark cave (which made me SUPER drowsy after lunch each day) it really made a difference. I literally felt more alert for the entire day and even felt better in the early evening. I guess what they say about natural light really IS true - it absolutely does help your energy level.
I'd give this 5 stars except its a pretty ugly looking lamp. It didn't make much of a difference for me since I was using it at work but I would never buy this for my home. Maybe Verilux will come out with a nicer design or at least upgrade the plastic to a nickle finish or something.
