These are the equivalent of taking two Benadryl and honestly id rather just buy benadryl because it's 3$ for 24 at the store near my house so these are somewhat of a ripoff, however it does help you get to sleep and even without it there's a difference in being able to fall asleep. Been taking diphenhydramine for a couple weeks in 50 and 75mg doses per night, 50 is preferable with 75mg inducing a deeper sleep but with my own personal experience, it makes me have very strange and sometimes unpleasant dreams which I don't really like. Point is it's an effective sleep aid, especially for annoying children who refuse to go to bed.
