Product Reviews of Ultreo Ultrasound ToothbrushProduct Review: Best tooth brush I have used Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best tooth brush I have owned. I have used two Sonicare over the last 7 years which I though performed well. Except when I went to get my teeth cleaned they hygienist would often complain I was not brushing adequately.
I switched to the Ultreo mid cleaning cycle. When I went to have my teeth cleaned the hygienist really got curios as to why I had so little plaque. The only thing I had done differently was use the Ultreo as suggested. No other difference.
Product Review: Best toothbrush ever Summary: 5 Stars
Have tried them all but nothing else keeps mouth feeling so clean and healthy. It also helps keep teeth white regardless of the toothpaste used. This is the second ultreo I've owned. The first lasted for years but finally quit. Sadly, the company is out of business and it is difficult to find a replacement. Wonderful to find it through Amazon at roughly the same price as my original. Hope one of the big manufacturers buys the rights and produces it again with a more consumer friendly price.
Product Review: Better than the rest - and I've tried them all. Summary: 5 Stars
I've been through Oral B and Sonicare. Both are good, but don't match the Ultreo. I agree with a previous reviewer that even the packaging (ala Apple) is an experience in quality.
I have "crowded" bottom teeth and, even after flossing, I always felt like I have food or something still hung up in there. With the Ultreo, I never have that feeling.
At first I was leery of this product. My dentist recommended it the last time I was in for a cleaning and I thought, "Yeah, she must be getting a pretty good cut....." But I went ahead and purchased one.
It's been three months now since my cleaning and my teeth still look and feel like they did when I left her office....whiter than ever and always with that "just polished" feel.
It's not cheap, but the replacement heads are not that expensive and, in the long run, I'm sure it will pay for itself in lower dental bills. I highly recommend!
Product Review: Brushhead is too big. Ultrasound cleaning is questionable Summary: 2 Stars
I am a Sonicare user for more than 10 years (yes, that is right). I got an Ultreo at the ADA conference at a discount price. Here are my opinions.
1. Brushhead is too wide for me. I have a relatively small mouth. I found that part of the brushhead is hanging outside of the teeth. The bristles are around the ultrasound generator in the middle. Now I have only half of the ring of bristles touching the teeth. The whole brushing experience becomes very awkward.
2. Ultrasound cleaning is questionable. I really don't feel my teeth is any cleaner than the cleaning with Sonicare. I cannot tell if it is worse, either. But with Sonicare, I feel the teeth is more clean with the touch of my tounge. Maybe you already know, P&G filed a lawsuit against the alleged bogus ultrasound cleaning claim by Ultreo. Ultreo then countersued P&G. It is interesting to see how it goes. Sonicare also has a comparison on their website between Sonicare Flexcare and Ultreo with and without the ultrasound turned on. On the Ultreo side, it performs the same with and without the ultrasound. It makes me think all the cleaning action is done by the good old bristles.
3. Expensive. For me, the price doesn't justify what I get.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
With the overwhelming supply of toothbrushes on the market, one had to wonder what Ultreo brings to the table that the top competition does not. It's a fair question that was answered immediately with my first use. The Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush is, quite literally, amazing. I've used Sonicare and Oral B brushes in the past, and I must say nothing else on the market can quite compare to this. Developed by former employees of Sonicare, the Ultreo brings to the table a clean, fresh feeling like no other.
I've seen some gripes about difficulty getting used to this brush, but I found it didn't take any getting used to whatsoever. The comfort level is amazing: I have sensitive teeth and gums and I've felt no discomfort whatsoever in using this brush. With just a small amount of toothpaste, the Ultreo uses its ultrasound technology to create a sea of suds. Don't be surprised if you look rabid by the end of your brushing, but in this case that's a good thing. The catchy little chime that plays every 30 seconds is also a nice feature, letting you know when to switch your focus onto a different area. It also automatically shuts off after two minutes, so you know you've gotten the full effect of a quality brushing. Afterwards, you're left with no slimy film and literally a professionally-cleaned feeling.
The only thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth with this product is the cost of its replacement heads. They really are outrageously overpriced, and hopefully the execs at Ultreo will recognize this sooner rather than later. Overall, however, the Ultreo Ultrasound Toothbrush is a highly recommended product that should actually leave you enjoying brushing your teeth regularly.
