Customer Review: extremely disappointing

On an icy surface, they offer no more traction than a good hiking boot and less so if there's snow on the ground. It tends to collect between the rubber ribbings and if it's cold enough, it will freeze leaving you with about as much purchase as a ballet slipper. In addition, mine kept slipping off the boots providing the only real health benefits since I had to retrace my steps to look for them, turning a 60 minute hike into a 90 minute one. I have since replaced them with EMS spikes which I love and which actually grab onto the ice.
