This pillow has potential. But, it's a shame that it's so small. Perhaps that's by design? Dunno. But I had to put the flattest extra pillow I could find underneath it, and then it was pretty decent. I don't find it a problem sleeping on my side -- in fact, it's rather comfortable. Would I recommend it? I wish it were bigger. Maybe the pillow wishes I were smaller. Just don't throw away your flat pillows...they'll come in handy with this one.Product Review: No more neck pains

I bought this pillow almost a year ago. It has an inner (non-removable) liner as well as a terrycloth cover. It's well made and has shown no sign whatsoever of any deterioration. Since purchasing the pillow, I have never awoken with any kind of soreness or stiffness in my neck (this used to happen sometimes with a regular pillow). This pillow is firmer than the cheap ones available at local stores, but I think it is much better. I would recommend this pillow to everyone.
