I recently caught a very bad cold and was looking for something specifically for my sore throat and drippy nose. I liked the advertised "cool burst" effect that temporarily cleared my sinuses and soothed my throat. I don't think it's as bad as gargling listerine, as the previous reviewer stated. Yes, it's strong, but only for a moment and I follow it with a little water chaser. The flavor is akin to mint gum. This is a nighttime medicine containing doxylamine succinate (the active ingredient in Unisom), so be prepared for some serious sleep. I was knocked out for a good 10-11 hours and a little groggy when waking. As for alleviating my symptoms, I think it worked well. I was able to sleep soundly all night without being kept up by my nose and throat. Recommended.
