I have had several surgeries on my knee and now (4 years after my last surgery) have developped some arthritis pain in that same knee. My knee swells if I walk a lot on it and I need to ice after any workout.
I keep the ice pack in the fridge and slightly fold the edge so that it doesn't come out of its pouch. I use a bounty towel between the ice pack and my knee. Then i "ice" my knee for about a half hour which for me is plenty enough.
For that price, I couldn't expect anything better. the Ice pack they used at the Physical therapy clinic was not even as good.

The bag wraps well around the leg,has removeable icepack.Icepack is on the cheap side,but you can insert any icepack easily into it.Peas(CVS) is a good replacement,around 7 dollars.I would buy again and be ready to replace the icepack insert.
