Product Reviews of Travelon 1st Class SleeperProduct Review: Good for small size people Summary: 4 Stars
and only four blows are good enough. When you lean onto it, make sure your back push all the air to the top so you'll have enough space for your lower back. Still think it's a good product.
Product Review: Helped me sleep in airplanes Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this because i was going to travel a lot for one month and many of my flights are red eye. I usually put a bag of clothes behind my back and steal blankets and pillows from other seats so I can sleep more comfortably. This sleeper replaced all of that and I have less back aches and pain. I will never go on a plane without it. I love how small it gets because I travel very light.
Product Review: Incremental improvement in comfort Summary: 4 Stars
I am 5'7" and never am able to sleep comfortably in an airplane seat... even business class. I emerge from the airplane with a sore back and sometimes sore legs, neck and arms. I used the First Class Sleeper Pillow on a recent trip to Asia, 32 hours door to door. The first class sleeper produced an incremental improvement in comfort in my coach seat. Although it didn't produce a miraculous improvement, it produced an improvement none the less. I liked the added support to my lumbar spine and the stabilization of my neck. It provided several sleeping positions which I could not have maintained without it.
One point that is not mentioned in the literature is that few people can maintain a single sleep position for more than about 20 minutes, so you need several satisfactory positions. This is particularly true in avoiding pain in the weight bearing part of the lower body which touches the seat.
If you are thinking of buying one I would encourage you to do it. It is not very expensive so if you don't expect too much you will likely be very satisfied. It would be nice to have a check valve for the inflator so that your inflation doesn't leak out between puffs.
Product Review: Interesting concept, but not for everyone Summary: 3 Stars
I used this device on a flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam. I read the instructions before the flight and practiced using it in a regular chair. But you really can't figure out how to use this in a normal chair because you really need the seatbelt to hold you in place and the back of the chair must be high enough to support your head. Anyway, it was not easy to figure out how much air to put in it since you don't inflate it completely. The guidelines they provide say 10-11 breaths, but are these 25-year-old, workout fan breaths or 55-year-old smoker breaths? At least once its inflated and behind you, the mechanism makes it easy to release air or add air. My biggest issue is that I think I may be too short for it to work for me. I'm 5'2" and it seemed that my head was resting in the middle of the cushion, no matter how often I adjusted it. Also, my feet don't comfortably reach the floor on most planes, so relying on the tension created by pushing against the floor to keep me in place doesn't work. However, the 5'11" Aussie guy in my row tried it and thought it was "interesting." He didn't have all the instructions, so I'm not sure he used it properly. My husband will try it on our flight to Thailand and I will update this review if anything else needs to be said.
Product Review: Life Changing Summary: 5 Stars
I have been making the journey from Vancouver, BC Canada to Auckland, New Zealand for more than 30 years, and I know just how long 12 hours feels. I am sincerely hoping that my next trip (May 2011) when I will be travelling non-stop from Vancouver to Auckland, a journey of 14.5 hours, will be life-changing. From reviews that I have read, my understanding is that the 1st Class Sleeper is going to be one of the best investments I have made - here's hoping!
