I'm very surprised at some of the reviews...however, I do not use this bottle to keep warm so I WOULD NEVER put boiling water in it..I can't imagine anyone taking such a great risk of severe burns.
I use this product theraputically for abdominal bloating and/or pain. As others have stated, I like the two different sides of the bottle applying the "rough" less hot side in the beginning right over a polo shirt then as it cools use the "smooth" warmer side as it is too hot in the first hour or two but perfect for the next hour or two. I use hot tap water probably about 110 degrees and it is a fantastic addition to my household medical kit as well as take along on vacations.
Recommended strongly for patients with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome".
Made in Germany and not inexpensive but for me well worth the cost as the craftsmanship is better than the rubber types made elsewhere and with thusly last longer.
VERY HAPPY with this product although a bit pricy but will buy another two for backup!

Okay, I like to sleep with a hot water bottle because it really helps to keep warm on these cold winter nights. However, my husband would complain about the smell of the rubber. This tranparent plastic bottle is terrfic--- much better and more durable than the rubber ones. I totally recommend it!!!Product Review: Very pleased!!

My husband and I went on a second Honeymoon this fall to Europe and discovered something interesting about England. Hot water bottles are very popular there, in fact, they are a common household staple! I wasn't sure what the purpose of a hot water bottle was, I mean, it seemed so old fashioned. So, I asked my British friend about it and she explained that they're for anything from cold hands and feet in winter to soothing cramps and muscle aches. She said that she personally liked to snuggle up with it at night and it helped her sleep. I asked if a heating pad would serve the same purpose. After all, that's what we use in America...
She said: 'Oh no, it's not the same!' So, I decided that I must get one (they were in every Boots store) and bring it home. But, alas, we ran out of time on our trip and never were able to get one. When I returned home, I searched and searched for a hot water bottle, but to no avail. Either America thinks they are too old-fashioned, or they haven't wised up yet!
Anyway, I ended up looking online and I found this model right here on Amazon. Seriously, look no further if you are looking for a hot water bottle. It's a bit pricey, but SO worth it!!

wide neck -- no spills!

retains heat like you wouldn't believe. Mine lasts 8 hours!

This hot water bottle is amazing! I see now what the Brits are fond of, it's so cozy and warm. Far superior to a heating pad and/or an electric blanket. =) =) =)

This is an excellent product! Those of us who live in homes with solar 12-volt electricity have discovered hot water bottles as the best way to pre-heat the bed before retiring. (They are also perfect for cold toes or an achy back.) We have tried many and this is the best one yet! The wide mouth is easy to fill. The clear container makes it easy to determine that it is not over or under-filled. The material is heavy and seems durable. The bottle is also manufactured without a seam--one of the primary causes of failure. There is little worse than a bed full of water in the night! The only thing this product needs is a flannel jacket, which is easy to make at home.
