Product Review: Love the desk and the comfort of it on my lap

This was just what I wanted for working with my laptop, but it is a little heavier than I was hoping it would be. There were so many choices, and the light did it for me because I also like to read late at night. The batteries don't last very long for me, but the laptop was my main purpose.
Older people would probably like this desk for correspondence and reading, plus it certainly makes your lap warm. I recommend this as an alternative to a chill pad with your laptop, rather than an addition to the chill pad. The entire set up with the chill pad, laptop and lap desk make this a bulky thing for the lap. Something has got to go, and I think it has to be the chill pad.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He as never liked desks so we tried this lapdesk. He uses it al the time and loves it. It has enough space to fit his laptop and mouse, plus it has been great to study on. The only thing we wish were different was the light. We wish you could take it off when you don't want to use it. It is slightly obnoxious when the laptop is open, but not enough to bring down the overall rating of this product. Overall I am pleased with the product. The desk gets heavy when you put the batteries in. I had a hard time getting the batteries in, so start out with good ones that will last awhile. Desk is sturdy. Held my 15.4" widescreen laptop with no problem and there was room to use my wireless mouse. I am able to sit cross legged and the desk is still stable.
Edited on 1/13/11: Yeah, with the batteries in, this desk is way to heavy and has no room to move around on your lap really. Skip it.
