Product Review: Nice natural alternative to antiperspirant

Note, this is not an antiperspirant and won't keep you dry. But it also has no aluminum. Sweating is natural, and this does keep you from getting sweat odor. I prefer deodorant to antiperspirant, and it's darn hard to find in the local drugstore so I am glad Tom's makes this product. I used to use Tom's deodorant when they had a great product for a man. Then because some whinny customers called in about being allergic to oregano which used to be one of the ingredients, they changed all their formulas over to hops -- the same stuff that's used to make beer. This hops-based product smells stale as soon as you put it on and it doesn't get better throughout the day. My girlfriend doesn't like it either. Tom's should have left well-enough alone since they had great products before. They lost me as a customer and probably many others. It's very difficult to find a natural man's deodorant that smells pleasant without overdoing it with things like Pine or Woodsy. I normally wouldn't be giving a review of deodorant, but under the circumstances, I felt compelled to share.
I am currently deployed in Iraq, which as most of you may know tends to get pretty warm in the summer. I have been switching through many different deodorants trying to find one that works in the environment that we are in. I came across a stick of Tom's Lemongrass deodorant in a care package, and thought I might as well give it a shot. It has been the best I have ever tried. It lasts a really long time, has a very fresh, pleasant scent, and best of all is made from all natural ingredients. Being in the medical field, I have seen quite a few soldiers, who in this difficult environment, have developed skin rashes from anti-perspirants, and chemical perfumes in other brands. Though I don't have a stash of Tom's on hand to pass out to them, I have recommended this brand to them (which they can easily purchase on Amazon). Of those that have taken my advice, I have received rave reviews in regards to this product. I definately prefer all natural products to those that contain ingredients that I can't pronounce, much less find in nature. I also am a firm believer in purchasing products made in America, by Americans. I will continue to use Tom's products for as long as they continue to make them.

This gets me through the day okay, and is the first natural deodorant I've tried that can do that. The lemongrass smell is strong for about a half hour before it dissipates, but that's not an issue for me. Make sure you like the smell of lemongrass before you buy this. This deoderant does have a slight scent - it smells mildly citrus-like, very mellow, and appropriate for men and women. I have been using it for about a year now, and have been very pleased. It does a good job of covering up everyday body odor, without being over-powering, and without polluting your body with petrochemicals. It does not last all day if you sweat all the time. I work outdoors during the summer, and sweat all day, and by the end of the day, I stink, even with this stuff on. If you have a desk job or any other job that does not require you to exert yourself physically, this will work well for you. I wouldn't reccommend using it on broken skin, as it can cause irritation.
