I have been interested in experimenting with Radiant Heat Therapy, and so decided to use it to help my poor aching back. The warmth builds slowly and can be felt internally more than externally. There is less sensation of over heating of the skin unless I am using it for more than an hour.
I sit with it for an hour in the evening and it feels very good- next best thing to a hot tub.
Although much much more expensive than a conventional heating pad, I do recommend it.
I suspect it would be better for heating tissue where the skin is fragile.
