Product Reviews of The Stealth Secret Sound AmplifierProduct Review: Good value for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I have owned hearing aids in the past that cost almost $1,000. I decided to try the Stealth SSA after reading some of the reviews on this website. I just got mine today and charged it up. The first problem I had was the aid slipping out of my ear, no matter which earbud I used. I finally figured out after many attempts in shifting it around, that the unit would stay in my ear, if I angled up in the front at about 45 degree angle, rather than down, as shown in some of the demo pictures. This makes the part that loops over your ear, much shorter, from the mount to the top of the ear, and it does a much better job of holding the SSA firmly in place. After I did that, it didn't slip anymore.
I find the sound equal to other high priced aids that I have worn though the years, and certainly well worth the very low price. I immediately turned my TV sound much lower, since it was way to loud.. ( The dog was happy when I did that).....
I have read many complaints that people have posted about background noises, everything is too loud, hearing breathing, etc.. etc.. Welcome to the world of hearing aids.. They all are like that, and it is a matter of getting used to it and setting the volume properly for your hearing.
Well worth the price and if you have problems with your hearing that most of us senior citizens have, it is worth buying to see if it will help you to hear things like the TV, conversations with other people, etc.... It sure beats spending $2,000 for a hearing aid.....
They sell replacement ear buds in a pack of three for the three different sizes. I sent an email suggesting that they sell a pack of three of the size that the customer uses, rather than all three sizes. This just makes more sense, that I don't have to buy a bag of 3 and discard two of them .
Product Review: Good, affordable amplifier Summary: 4 Stars
To begin with, The Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier was not purchased for myself, but for my 92-year-old father, who understandably has some problems with hearing. He was actually at a 30-day a trial period of what is was called "the best" by the salesman - a $5,800 hearing aid, with which he had some problems. To make a long story short: Dad has returned the hearing aid, saying that The Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier is really quite enough to help him hear TV better.
This might of course not be the case for someone with more severe hearing loss, but it worked out quite well for us. The rechargeable batteries of the The Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier are also a great time and money server, compared to the need of buying hearing aid batteries, which expire after a few hours.
Product Review: Great results. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for a friend at work. He has often had problems hearing the little details at the far end of the conference room. He bought a more expensive item that burned up batteries fast and just didn't help much. But he is very pleased with Stealth Secret. He said it holds a charge for a week of meetings, and he can hear quite clearly. At this price, we rate it Excellent!
Product Review: Great service Summary: 5 Stars
My father bought this and says it is better than the hearing aid he paid $1500 for!! In addition, they are amazing when it comes to service. We were on vacation in Las Vegas and needed a replacement ear piece. She sent a dozen of them to us next day, free!! Obviously their customer service is above and beyond anyone. We will purchase all our product from them.
Product Review: Great sound, some issues... Summary: 3 Stars
Got this for my HOH husband, so we could have the TV at a reasonable level and he could still enjoy it with us.
The sound is awesome. He can hear very clearly, as long as it's not up against his face, which makes it buzz. Problem is, the ear adapters that come with this device don't have much range in sizes, so even the largest one will not fit securely in his ear. The adjustable part that wraps around the ear is just not strong enough to keep it in the ear and prevent it from touching the face without the ear plug part being bigger.
I have looked all over the internet and e-mailed the company...but can't find a replacement ear adapter and still have not had a response from the company. It's too bad, I really think this could be a useful thing for us, but without a more sturdy over-the-ear piece or a bigger inside-the-ear piece, he's just not able to use it.
