Product Reviews of The Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier

Product Review: Ordered for my mother
Summary: 5 Stars

My mother was having trouble hearing people talk and was very frustrated. I ordered The Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier for her and she called me to let me know "My ears have heard sounds they have not heard for years". I could tell she was very happy with it. She said she would recommend it to anyone having trouble with their hearing.

Product Review: Other Makes are Better
Summary: 2 Stars

A while back I bought a hearing aid from Beltone for around $900. Later I bought the Secret Stealth and the Silver Sonic XL. All 3 devices have a lot of ambient noise background (wind, fans, traffic noises, feet on the floor, etc.)

The only one I found that does not have a lot of ambient noise amplification (in addition to the desired sound amplification) is called Loud 'N Clear. It's unfortunately not available via Amazon but it works just great. It can be had for around $25. It's not rechargeable like Stealth, but the batteries are inexpensive (312 hearing aid batteries) and they last a long time.

FDA approved hearing aids, like the one I got from Beltone, are a bit of a racket. The manufacturing costs are no more than the $25-40 devices like Stealth or Loud 'N Clear, but because of the FDA label, manufacturers jack up the price a thousand fold.

Try one of these cheaper devices before buying an actual hearing aid. There is really no difference in performance--only price.

Product Review: Piece of JUNK !!!
Summary: 1 Stars

Thought this might be an aid and was interested as it could be recharged instead of replacing the batteries. Upon recipt, I hooked up the charger. It turned off in about 3 minutes. Disconnect, hook up again and it does the same thing. Thought it might have been charged brfore I received it so I tried it on. Uncomfortable (very), hard to get to stay on the ear and while it amplified sound it seemed to distort. In my opinion, a worthless piece of junk.

Product Review: Piece of Junk - do not waste your money
Summary: 1 Stars

This item is junk. It comes in a generic non-marked box and only emits a high frequency sound similar to feedback. It did not magnify anything. There were no instructions on how to adjust this to your ear and when doing so, the ear hook is so flexible it doesn't stay put. Please don't waste your money on this.

Product Review: Pleasantly Surprised
Summary: 4 Stars

After reading most of the reviews, I was very cautious about purchasing this item. I guessed that maybe people didn't know how to wear a bluetooth-type phone in the ear (I am 62, but love technology). With a little maneuvering, the ear piece fits comfortably on the ear. I've had hearing aids in the past that were damaged and too costly to replace. I have the type of hearing that hears sounds, but very difficult to translate the spoken word - especially coming out of the TV set or at an auditorium play. This item is exactly as described, a PSA - or personal sound amplification. Yes, hearing aids are better at filtering - but extremely costly - way above what I can afford now. The SSSA amplified the sound very well when watching TV - I was able to reduce the volume control 50% (making my husband very happy and saving his ears). I can't wait to try at a play or movie theatre. Oh, I also found that there is a sweet spot on the volume control that removes the 'hollow or barrel' sound. Over all, I am pretty pleased.
