I waited awhile before doing a review on this item (purchased it in January of 2009). I wanted to see how it would fare over the first several months of use. So far it works nearly perfect. From the very first night I stopped snoring and slept like a teenager again. I didn't have any issues with it rubbing on my gums or causing sore spots. I didn't have to trim it either. I did have about three days of slight soreness at first (in my jaws) but that went away each morning in 5-10 minutes after I removed the mouthpiece.
I recommend that you sleep on your stomach or side instead of your back. It's not impossible sleeping on your back but it is easier to keep your mouth closed in those other positions.
The Snore Wizard has a lifespan of about 9 months according to the manufacturer's instructions. That's probably an estimate on the low side. I think it will go for a year before it wears out.
I don't use the breathing hole in front. It dried my mouth out too much so I keep my lips closed and my tongue rests in the hole. You will have loads of saliva to deal with in the morning. That's not obvious until you are removing it. Be ready for it.
Overall I couldn't live without this silly little thing. It's made a huge difference in my life. I'm sleeping great now. I'm losing weight and I'm not groggy at work anymore. Buy it. I bought a second one as backup.

The Snore Wizard Mouthpiece The Snore Wizard Mouthpiece is a simple and effective oral device for use in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. Made of special soft feel plastic it comes ready to use. There is no heating or moulding required to achieve a correct fit and you still continue to breathe through your mouth. The SnoreWizard moves the lower jaw slightly forward and holds the mouth slightly open. This improves the airflow at the back of the throat and eliminates snoring in most cases. The Snore Wizard was developed by a dental surgeon and the product has undergone numerous clinical trials in which it was found to reduce snoring and sleep apnea in 94% of research subjects. The Snore Wizard was designed to increase the space behind the tongue by bringing the lower jaw (mandible) forward, opening the airway in the throat and eliminating snoring. Why Most People Snore Normally air passes through the throat to the lungs silently and unhindered. In snorer's however, fatty tissue, tonsils and adenoids can narrow passageways, creating turbulence that makes the throat tissue vibrate.
