I actually have relatively healthy sinuses right now, but do suffer from frequent allergies when certain pollens are in the air, and have had sinus infections in the past in addition to a moderate amount of colds.
Somehow I got the idea that regular neti potting would help reduce illnesses, and might help keep my sinuses healthier.
After the first use, my sinuses felt icky about 30 minutes after the wash. I tried a second time the next day, this time with distilled water, and my sinuses closed up about 15 minutes after the wash. Friends started to worry about my health when they heard my nasally speech and saw my puffy face. Stubbornly, I tried a third time, taking extra care to complete a "drying stage" I learned about (not in the instructions) to remove any remaining excess liquid in the sinuses. My sinuses closed up immediately after the wash. After two days of NOT neti potting, my sinuses have returned to normal and I breathe freely.
Three strikes. I hope you have better luck if you try it, but I'm done.
