Product Review: I'm hooked
Summary: 5 Stars

I am not by any means a video-game player and I am the person who has to ask her IT department to help her with pretty much every computer task. That said, a store in my city had The Journey out to try so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm totally hooked!

The graphics and music alone are beautiful and I have found the practices that I learned and continue to learn really helpful in my day to day life. It was very easy to load up (trust me, I asked lots of questions at the store just to make sure I'd be able to do it) and I can't get enough.

I'm definitely considering giving this to some family members for the holidays. The benefits really have effected my lifestyle and I would love to share that with others.

Product Review: I'm really impressed!

It's now 2006. I had heard about this game when it first came out, but could just not envison spending $200 for a computer game. However, my doctor put me on blood pressure meds, which I don't want, and I decided I could maybe use some help that's not a pill. It installed easily, and I can get the monthly emails if I want them. I personally find that in order to get the conductivity I need, I have to use a bit of hand lotion on my index and ring fingers, as the game suggests. I am amazed by the concentration it takes to do some of these tasks. I am a hairdresser, and my job is very high-energy, and some of the tasks are difficult. My best friend is a massage therapist, and he had a much easier time with some of the tasks. We also each visited the Sky Temple, then visited it together, with both of us having a sensor on, and holding hands. It was really neat to see the differences. Having read some other reviews, I'd have to say my only major criticism is that it's completely intuitive. I've done some things, but not all of them, and I tried to do one event, and was told I had to go back and do something else first. The game could have used a bit more guidance, or perhaps a more guided mode and an "explore on your own" mode. I don't necessarily need to be walked through step by step, but I am having a hard time navigating. All the areas are so lovely it's hard to remember if I was there or managed to do the task. This reminds me a lot of the Myst series of games, in that it's very intuitive. However, the puzzles need to be solved by raising or lowering your energy instead of pushing levers and finding code numbers. If you're having a hard time unwinding at night before bed, or stressed out, or needing to relax and meditate, it's an excellent choice. And from what I've read, the sequel "Wisdom Quest" utilized lots of feedback and had a more guided mode. It's like meditating ewith your eyes open, only thre focus you have makes things happen on the screen. Would be great for pretty much anyone. Very enjoyable! Can't wait to figure it all out.

Product Review: If you're going to use it, it's great

My mother got me this program when I was suffering from stress-caused lockjaw and tension problems with my back, as well as headaches. I found installation to not be a problem, and once I got the "magic rings" in the right spot, I haven't had any more probelms with them. I found that it works well, and I feel that it really manages to show me how tense I am, and helps me to feel my energy a lot more, and it has attuned me to the subtlety of my own energy. I am a little frustrated because there is not a whole lot of guidance concerning what you need to do next in the game. That was very frustrating for me. The game kept telling me to get a mentor, but I could not figure out how the heck I was supposed to do that. I started the game over, and I got him the second time. I found the scenery to be beautiful, and the music soothing, though a little repetative after a long time. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to explore biofeedback as an option for stress relief. But I would also warn you to follow the sequence of the program, or go to the chapter by chapter part, because otherwise you can lose your place and then it is very difficult to find it again.

Product Review: Infinite Possibilities to Make Money
Summary: 1 Stars

If there is one thing which most interferes with my sense of peace, relaxation and serenity, it is the wealthy practitioners of New Age self-help mumbo jumbo who take advantage of the vulnerable sheep who seek relief from their anxieties and feelings of emptiness. Just create a soundtrack with the mandatory cheezy strings and flute-whistles, mount that on a snazzy motif of floating orbs, otherworldly opulence, and flowing robes, throw in some pseudo high-tech wires and clamps which do nothing more than measure one's rate of heart-beat (which is in no way "biofeedback"), place that in an elegant upscale box, charge an upscale price, and you have created a package which will cater to all those non discriminating suckers as represented by the glowing and almost universally positive reviews found here. Another similar product which is even more costly and which I ordered and returned along with this one, says it all in small print on the box: "has no medical efficacy, and is to be considered as entertainment." But if this kind of "entertainment" reinforces your oblivious sense of accomplishment, just send in your big bucks to the New Age dudes in their big houses who sit around and conjure up even more "infinite possibilities" of developing their "full potential" to make even more money. I recommend a good book on meditation, and actually sitting down and doing it.

Product Review: Loving it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I found this game at Whole Foods, of all places. I'd heard about these sorts of games but didn't know they were available mainstream. Found it just in time for Christmas!

I'd read the other reviews so I did have some concerns. I'm running Windows Vista, but the install process went as smooth as could be, and quick.

I've had absolutely no problem with signal transmission through the rings. Minor repositioning here and there, and I like to check the "system" option on the menu to make sure it's optimal.

I've only been playing 3 days now, but I'm noticing how much easier some of the exercises are getting; however some are easier or harder depending on the day, which makes sense.

This game is great for me. I know the benefits of meditation, but I tend not to do them without someone leading me through; my impatience and busyness take over. This gives me motivation through the game aspect to keep me going on my own, as well as the visual feedback that helps me know I really am affecting myself. I am loving the Chakra visualizations!

At this point the only thing more I could wish for is a few more options on the start menu, such as a volume adjustment. Navigating around through the start area can be a little confusing at first, the map isn't ideal, but there are links to home-made ones in the forum as well.

Enough gush, I'm going back to my game!
