Product Reviews of The Journey to Wild Divine Biofeedback Software & Hardware for PC & Mac: The PassageProduct Review: A Biofeedback World Summary: 5 Stars
OK, let us admit that the world of Wild Divine is a bit syrupy. Flowers and gentle animals and lots of soft music. Stipulated.
But what a world. The biofeedback sensors on three of your fingers allow you to change events of this world with states of your body. If you can relax enough, these doors will open. If you can rouse yourself, this elevator will go up. A dolphin will leap from a pool and knock a ball into the air. And in some cases, you must find a balance: one room requires that you raise and lower and raise again your arousal to move a ball through a maze.
When you have played the game and its more elegant sequel, Wisdom Quest, you will know several things from your own experience: that your inner states of arousal and ease can be measured and changed, and that a reasonably-priced game will let you begin the process.
The people I have shown the game often go out and buy their own copies.
Product Review: A Fantastic Tool - And It's Fun!! Summary: 5 Stars
The Journey to the Wild Divine is a great game, and so much more. My husband and I both have really enjoyed it. It is a pretty sophisticated program with beautiful imagery - definitely worth the cost.
The game makes learning to control your breathing, heart rate, and thoughts almost effortless. The effects of playing stay with me for several days - I feel calmer, more focused on positive images and ideals, and more "settled" in my current situation. It has provided me with meaningful tools and perspectives that transfer over into my life.
One tip - read the Companion Guide before and during your game. It will help you navigate and add a great deal of food for thought in the process.
I would highly recommend the game to anyone, and am very grateful to the creative Souls who produced it for our pleasure and growth.
Product Review: A Wonderful Journey Summary: 5 Stars
If you want a nice way to learn about and practice relaxation techniques and meditation this is a great product. It not only provides guidance but the biofeedback is a great way to learn. The game aspect of Wild Divine, in which one has to progress through a series of challenges, is also fun. I, like many people who have tried it, however, continue to return to our favorite parts of the program even after completing the game. Many people who have tried it have found that it has made a real difference in their lives. I heartily recommend Wild Divine.
Product Review: A feast for the eyes and mind! Summary: 4 Stars
If you are looking for a game to "win" go get something like Doom. Journey to Wild Divine - The Passage is not it.
What this game is, is a wonderful meal for the senses and the mind. While there is a plot, a beginning, and an end to the game, there is nothing to "beat". There is no clock to race. It is a chance to relax, discover, and play. I have played the game completely thru a few times & have discovered a lot about how my mind & body work.
The graphics are beautiful & lush. The music is lovely. The biofeedback events are challenging, but not overly so.
The sentiments expressed by characters in the game may seem a bit "new age" for some folks, but they are all about compassion, healing, and knowing yourself. These are sentiments that can be embraced by anyone, regardless of faith or creed.
The only drawback I experienced while playing the game was that my computer would tend to crash at one particular point. However, since it didn't always do so, I suspect that the fault lies with my computer & not the game itself.
Product Review: A frustrating game for people who need it most Summary: 2 Stars
1. It is unstructured, you need to spend a lot of time exploring the game.
2. Most of my time is spent wandering around walking very slowly from one place to another (without knowing where I am heading to).
3. The different exercises are just slight variations of each other. Not much to learn from different games.
4. There are very little instructions on how to control your state of mind/body to play the games.
5. It is a very frustrating game for people with type A personality, who are impatient and have trouble calming down.
