The Clapper is a useful item for when you are entering your house and don't have a lightswitch nearby. Those of you who do not have this problem may not understand, but those of you that do not have one handy will LOVE this item! I bought The Clapper years ago, after they marketed the two-item model that will work with two separate lights. I found it to be most helpful, and if there were ever sounds loud enough to turn it on, I would have wanted to know about it anyway, so I was not disturbed by an errant turning on of a light. I feel that The Clapper is not only a convenient tool, but it could serve as a deterrent to would-be thieves, if they end up causing it to trigger!Product Review: Happy Clapper

It works as expected. I'm still working at finding the right setting where random noises don't turn it off and on. When my hands are full, I can stomp my feet or make 2 sounds some other way to turn it on or off. It's great!Product Review: Haven't used it yet

I just tried one of these. As soon as I plugged it in it crackled and started to smoke. I would be afraid to trust one now. It is the first and last time that I will plug one of these in. What if this had happened when I wasn't there?
