I bought this because I often fall asleep reading without turning the lights in my bedroom out. I received the Clapper+ in early Sept/09 and by early Nov/09, it had broken. At first, it worked as expected once I got the clap sequences down. However, the clap sensor eventually became weaker and I had to clap louder and louder. Once the light bulb burned out, I replaced it and a week later, the bulb was burned out and the clapper was dead. I double-checked the voltage of the light bulb and it was within the allowable range. Unfortunately, it is too late to return it.
The remote also only worked some of the time.

The shipping was fast and safe. Glad that I got the clapper with a remote switch. Don't know if the sound sensor is not sensitive or it's just tricky to do. The clapper can only detect sound within a short range (right next to it). So we ended up using the remote switch.Product Review: Clapped until my palms were red

I returned this item after contacting the manufacturer who walked me through a trouble shoot checklist and then advised me to return it to the point of purchase as the item was "defective". I clapped and clapped. Stood right on top of the receiver and it did not work. I returned it. Amazon refunded without incident and I did NOT order another one.Product Review: Clapper
