I bought this item for my 61 year old parents. Current remotes have so many buttons and they are so small he could never get the channel he wanted or would punch buttons and mess the tv up. They have basic cable so there isnt a hundred channels to flip thru, and with this remote he can either scan the channels or adjust the volume with out accidentally pushing something he shouldnt.

The Tek Pal Large Button TV Remote is great! I've bought my 82 year old father tons of things (telephones, clocks, etc.) for the visually impaired, and most were just too complicated. This remote is great. It programs in a heartbeat - first time that I didn't need help from my 13 year old son to do something technical. My dad loves this and wants another for his bedroom TV! Thank you, Tek Pal, for understanding what it means to be older and have vision problems and for finding a solution. I'll buy everything you make from now on.Product Review: Good, but...

This remote would have been perfect for my elderly mother except for the fact that it does not work with Cable boxes. Luckily, our TV has a built-in cable card and we can get most cable stations by disconnecting the extra box (although now I no longer have any On-Demand or DVR capability). Also, if you have access to many stations it may take a while to navigate up/down to any specific station you're looking for.Product Review: Great Product

Bought this for my brother with MS as he has a hard time holding on to things and seeing the small buttons on a regular remote. We added some padding around it as he drops his remote quite often. The remotes we had gotten him in the past only lasted a few days as he would drop it and it would break or he would somehow change the settings and we would have to re-program. So far he has had it for over a week with no problems.
Hope we found something that will last longer than a few days..

I bought this remote for my Grandfather, who has low vision and is shakey. He was having a lot of trouble with regular remotes, but this one is plain and simple. It worked as soon as I took it out of the package. My Grandmother, who has low vision and memory problems, could even use it, but Grandpa hides it from her.
