I had given my elderly parents one of these scales a year ago and they liked it so much they had me get another. They like it because it is very stable with a generous sized platform and is easy for them to use. This scale was a gift for my 94 year young mother. She had a digital scale which was driving her crazy. I decided to purchase a mechanical one for her weighing pleasure. She loves it! ( My only negative regarding this item is the shipping charge. It was as much as the scale which was on sale. Hate it! Usually an analog type scale will have a line for every 5 pounds, this scale only denotes in 10 lb intervals....I should have taken a better look at it on line before I bought it. I'm going back to digital I think.
