Product Reviews of Taylor 5599 440 Pound Tempered Glass Body Fat-Body Water ScaleProduct Review: Excellent Product Summary: 5 Stars
I recently started on the HCG protocol for weight loss. It requires that you weigh yourself everyday and needs accuracy so if something worked or didn't work the day before, you can adjust it the following day.
I've have stepped on it 7 times in a row and only had one variation of .2lbs. I think you can trick it if you don't stand in the same spot every time (more towards the middle, more out to the side) and I can't guarantee by bathroom floor is perfectly level, so there you go.
It's a wonderful product. No complaints. I love that it measures body fat, body water, bone mass and muscle mass. It's really important to make sure you aren't eating your muscles when losing weight.
Highly recommended.
Product Review: Features don't work Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this scale several months ago at Target. All I can get it to do is weigh, none of the other features seem to work. No instructions were included. I tried to contact the manufacturer with no success. I have spent time researching on-line for instructions with no luck. The scale itself seems fairly accurate, however, I bought it because I wanted the body fat measure as well. Wish I had bought a different model.
Product Review: GOOD FOR THOSE WITH GOOD EYES Summary: 4 Stars
As with other reviewers, I had to read the instructions a few times. Once I programmed my body info into it, I had no problems. It's a nice-looking scale (albeit with a flimsy plastic handle at the bottom). It appears to give consistent readings, although I have no way to verify if the bone mass, or muscle/water/fat readings are actually accurate.
If all you want is body weight, just step on the scale. However, If you want the bone mass, water content, fat % or muscle %, then you press the "set" button and allow it to enter the correct mode, then step on with moistened feet. There are metal sensors that apparently send impulses through you feet. (You can't feel anything at all.)
My only gripe is the display flashes each reading way too fast, (2 seconds for each of the 5 cycles) and the bone/fat/water/muscle indicator is VERY small. I have average eyesight, but to see a 12 font from 6 feet away, I have to run the sequence 2 or 3 times just to read each function. This is irritating. I assume the small icons and quick sequences are designed to preserve the lithium watch battery; but repeating the function 2-3 times ends up wasting battery power.
Product Review: Garbage Summary: 1 Stars
I'd owned this scale a few weeks before pieces started coming off and it basically fell apart. First the silver tabs pictured on each corner came off which made it look ugly, then it started to become seperated from its base and wires started showing and eventually broke. This was the worst and I wouldn't recommend it.
Product Review: Good looking consistent well built scale Summary: 4 Stars
Ok, I'm not sure how accurate the bone density measurements are but overall, I can't think of a thing to complain about. Wait, yes I can... I do wish it had a feature where it would store your past information. I knocked off one star for that. Other than that, this scale looks great, works great, it consistent, readable and cool. Now if it would just loose weight for me, I'd add a couple of stars back on.
